Andrew studied at Aberystwyth University and Chester College of Law before commencing a training contract in Brighton. He joined Russell & Russell in 2001 and is a Higher Court Advocate and Duty Solicitor with experience covering the whole spectrum of criminal offences from motoring to conspiracy matters including dealing with high profile clients.
He specialises in dangerousness provisions, proceeds of crime and sentencing generally.
Andrew is dealing with the majority of the firm's Crown Court work in our growing and highly respected in-house advocacy team. Andrew specialises in all areas of advocacy with a particular interest in Sentencing and Proceeds of Crime. He has appeared recently in Bolton, Manchester, Liverpool, Derby, Birmingham, Preston and Chester Crown Courts.
Andrew has had notable success in recent jury trials , combating issues of bad character, identification and alibi to secure not guilty verdicts. Appeared in the Court of Appeal, successfully challenging a sentence of 4 years imprisonment for an offence of Robbery which was reduced to a 2 year term . Lord Justice Toulson commenting "that was an excellent example of a concise and effective plea"
His interests away from work include food and wine and socialising. He is a supporter of Liverpool Football Club and he is interested in motoring.
